Not initially on my list of pubs to try in the Potteries yesterday, this one was recommended to us by the landlord of Johny's Micropub. We weren't initially sure it would be open as WhatPub had it as 4pm opening. This may go some way to explain why there were no other customers and it was just the landlady and two of us.
This is a reasonable size pub which you could probably class as a micropub. There is a single room split into a front and a slightly higher rear section with a corridor leading from the rear to a kitchen and the toilets.
The landlady seems very keen to try different cask beers. She was proud to show us the range of beers she had had on. For our visit, 3 cask ales were Bass, 4T's Chocolate & Fudge Stout Detectives & Signature Brew EP. Neck Oil was on keg.
I agree with Bucking Fastard. This is well worth including on any pub crawl of Burslem. With all pubs and bars located in a fairly compact area, it's a good place to try a few different pubs and beers.

A former shop unit with very large exterior windows, the interior is quite smart with a grey wood effect floor, traditional furniture with a raised rear section with sofas. The bar back is modern yet impressive while other decorative features are pleasing. There was a friendly and chatty welcome and conversation flowed easily with some locals. The muzak was well chosen and played at a sensible volume.
There are 4 handpumps,3 serving on my trip Titanic Plum Porter,Inadequate Citra Pale and Blackjack Four of a Kind,a high ABV IPA.That's a very good ale line up ,all highly drinkable and shows a discerning choice of quality over quantity.
A must visit on a crawl, slightly more bar than pub but worthy none the less.

New micro-pub, housed in a former chemist's shop, with a small bar at the front and a bit more seating in a rear lounge located up a couple of steps at the back. Semi-modern modern furniture and decor, but also background music. Four real ales on handpump: Acorn Barnsley Gold, Squawk Pica oat pale, Mallinson's Perley Dewdrops (£3.20) and Green Jack Trawlerboys when I visited.
